Wii Are the World

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

So this post is being entered via Wii and Wiiconnect24, in conjunction with the trial version of the Opera browser. Fun stuff, and I’m very pleased to see that it’s WordPress compatible. I’ll see what else this thing can do later…

Update:

Not that this is breaking news or anything, but Nintendo is sending out replacement Wii remote wrist straps to anyone who’s interested. You can sign up via this link: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/strapreplace.jsp. I still hold the stance that those of you throwing your remotes through televisions and giving your girlfriends black eyes while trying to slay Hyrulian horrors are rather careless, clumsy individuals. Here’s looking at you, kids.

Abandoned, not forgotten

I feel sort of what it looks like when someone squishes a stick of butter in their hands, creamy goodness oozing out between tightly clenched fingers dripping goo all over the new rug. Delicious. Thanks to Mr. Laporte, whose bizarre imagery I hi-jacked due to tired mind syndrome.

I’ve been trampled by Christmas cheer. It’s exacerbated by the fact that I work in retail, where everybody wants things, and they need those things now or they’ll shout or cry. I thought that I had been pretty good at getting gifts early and I could get things to people on time this year. Turns out that I was part right, but failed to ship things so that they’d arrive in a timely manner. I suppose I could still shell out a pretty penny for priority shipping from whoever but funds are a little dangerous now due to extenuating circumstances. I still have some other things to buy too. Tis the season to rack your brain. Tis the season to mourn your wallet. Tis the season to feel obligated to get material posessions for people in your family that you like but haven’t hung out with for more than a few days at a time over the last 4 or 5 years. Tis the season to work overtime to pay the bills and not have any time to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. I realize that I liked Christmas for the togetherness aspect where I got to hang out with family and have a pretty good time. I don’t get to do that, so all of this horrible snow-balling buildup of stress will end up having no release party when Dec. 25th rolls around.

And following up on extenuating circumstances, I took Ed to the vet today. She’s been showing symptoms of neurological-type problems over the last week or so and I wanted to see if there was anything to be done for my furry compadre. Some tests were done to test her physical responses in different situations and the results all pointed to definite problem without definite cause. The solution was to give her an injection of steroids to try to reduce any possible swelling on the brain and spine that could be causing her lack of coordination and waning sense of awareness, and to administer 2 doses of antibiotics a day. She also got a complimentary tooth trimming. She’s been extraordinarily tired since I brought her home, and I do hope that she wakes back up again.

In lighter news I had started a Christmas card, which at this point will probably be more of a Seasons Greetings card since I’ll miss my mark if it get done at all, but it might involve an elf cooking Santa in an oven. My jolly comes packed with a lot of crazy.

Ho Ho Ho.
