No More Beautiful World

No More Beautiful World Those crazy gringos from Arizona have done it again! Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers have produced another great album totally bubbling with joyful lyrics, masterful musicianship and all that other genuine feel-goodyness that they’ve become so well known for. For this one they really went for the gusto, fusing the youthful energy of Fizzy Fuzzy with the musical mastery that can only be honed by years of experience as road-warrior rockers, and coming up with 14 tracks of ‘refreshing’ new sounds, tales of wreckless adventure, editorials on modern life, dreamy reggae grooves, and even an uplifting love song or two. Clyne’s vicious vocals rip their way through Andale!, Larson’s jazz guitar adds an extra element of carefree playfulness in Junebug in July, and while songs like Bottom of the Bay and Lemons are teeming with world music influences there’s no doubt that every song is 100% Peacemakers.

Editor’s Note: Those 3 sentences took me several hours to write and I took great pains to formulate each one. Reviews are so not my bag.
