Flash in the pan
Friday, July 27th, 200731 days later and back to zero.
The sun is still up and my shades are down, the incandescent lamp light reflecting off of the walls my only source of illumination to type by. Not that typing would require any more light than what the monitor would provide on its own, just enough for me to fumble my way to the keyboard, a laying on of hands giving second sight to the otherwise blind.
Today starts my vacation and to christen it I thought it appropriate to drink a few beers and stop by the old blog, make my mark so’s the world still knows I’m here. Buzzed and aimless is the appropriate frame of mind to clack by these days as focus leads to freeze ups more often than results. Today was a bit of a break through for me as I’ve been subject to a kind of brain storm – the kind where it feels like a hurricane is rushing through your head, tearing down memories and blurring your vision with stinging rains winds so fast you can barely stand, as opposed to the kind where you cook up great ideas and get to work. Sleep came often and helped little, wakefulness was confusing and frustrating. But at about 9am today the fog lifted and a little light burned through the mist. Calm in the storm or the end I don’t yet know but I feel like there’s bones back in this old body of mine.
If you aren’t taking you’re being taken. A motto that these last few weeks have bestowed upon me.
The evenings events await and I shan’t linger any longer.
