You might notice that there’s a new link at the top of my sidebar. It probably says something like “shopping cart”, and below that there could be a link that reads “visit the shop” or some such. I want to let it be known that those links are part of the new CleverNinja Gear store. I should also inform you that the store isn’t really working all that smoothly yet. The whole shop is built upon the E-commerce WordPress plugin which I thought was great until I couldn’t find any type of useful documentation to help me solve problems such as ‘How do you automatically send an email order confirmation to a customer?’ So when you place an order and it takes you to a page claiming that you’ll receive an email confirmation shortly, it’s kind of lying. Short of getting a few scrawny Chinese workers imported to respond to orders I don’t really have a solution. If you’re paying via PayPal it might work just fine, but I haven’t been able to test it since I can’t purchase things with my own account. If anyone is feeling brave enough to give it a shot, be sure to let me know how it goes.

What I’m basically getting at is this: use the shop at your own risk. If you place an order I’ll eventually see it and get it processed. And until I find a solution, if you want quicker service you can shoot me an email. I can say that at least the inventory in the shop is accurate, so there’s no way to accidentally order something that I don’t have…at least I hope that’s the case. Eve ordered my last small FBV shirt, and the availability changed to unavailable so that seems promising.

All that being said, feel free to poke around in the shop and the 2 items that are in there, and let me know if there’s anything else broken or that could use improvement. Thoughts, opinions, ideas, suggestions are all welcome. Unless they’re dumb. Then you can keep them to yourself.
